Policies and Guidelines
Our Policies
Clients must provide an accurate health history and agree to inform their therapist of any updates or changes to their health/medical condition. Clients will receive a health intake form upon scheduling or in the office at their first visit.
Cancellations made 24+ hours in advance will be honored with no fee. Clients who cancel 24 hours or less in advance will be charged a $50 cancellation fee. No-shows will be charged for the full session.
Clients with any signs or symptoms of an active systemic or localized infection (e.g. fever, sore throat, swelling, etc.) or a contagious condition including common cold, stomach flu, coronavirus, meningitis, contagious skin conditions etc. at the time of a scheduled massage are asked to notify us via email and reschedule their appointment.
Massage therapists only provide therapeutic massage and modalities that are within the scope of practice for this licensed profession. Clients with acute injuries or conditions that are outside of the scope of practice for massage should consult with their doctor. Please email us if you have questions.
Client privacy and confidentiality will be maintained at all times.
Helix does not tolerate harassment or discrimination of any kind. We welcome clients of all genders and identities.
We aim to be inclusive of clients of all abilities. Out calls are available for clients who are unable to access the second floor via stairs. If you have any access needs or concerns, please email us at least 24 hours before your appointment so we can make accommodations.
The therapist and client both maintain the right to stop the massage at any time if they are uncomfortable.
What to expect during your appointment
Massage sessions will begin and end at the scheduled time. Sessions that begin late due to the client's late arrival will end at the scheduled time and the client will be billed for the full time.
Clients will be appropriately draped with a sheet or towel at all times during the massage session. Only the area(s) of the body that are currently being worked will be exposed. The genital area is never exposed or massaged. Please be aware that certain techniques require access to the exposed tissue; however, you can wear as much clothing as you feel comfortable in throughout your massage.
Please shower before (the day of) your appointment, as bacteria can easily be spread from one area of the body to another during a massage.
