Myofascial Release

Fascia is the matrix of flexible connective tissue that envelops, separates and protects our muscles and organs. This interconnected web of tissue is essential to the balance of stability and flexibility in our bodies, enabling both strength and movement. It is also the "breathable" layer of tissue that allows blood to move to and nourish the muscles.

This massage uses specific techniques, including silicon cupping and frictions, that target fascial adhesions and trigger points that are preventing fluid motion.

FAQ

  • While some of the same techniques are used in both massages, myofascial release is focused on more global, superficial tissue. More time is spent frictioning and stretching the superficial fascia to bring mobility to the layer of tissue that protects and stabilizes your muscles.

  • Do not get a massage treatment if you are taking blood thinners or anticoagulants, have an active infection, or have any areas of broken skin or a rash. If you have any concerns it is always best to get a doctor’s clearance before getting a massage.
